Back in your high school days, what groups/organizations or teams did you belong to? Football, Key Club, Drama, and National Slacker Society.
How long have you been with WCKM/HITS/WWSC? 12 plus years. I started on WCQL in June of 2005.
How did you get into the radio business? I got an internship during my senior year of highs school through BOCES. When the internship ended they hired me as a part time weekend fill-in jock and I have been working in radio ever since.
Who were your radio influences? Rick Knight, Jim Scott, Todd Pettengil and Howard Stern.
What do you do on you day off: When I’m not playing radio guy every weekday afternoon from 1p-7p on Hits 95.9, you can find me on South Street or on Glen Lake or many other places singing with my band The Kings of Stupid Mountain, out riding Big Bertha(that’s my motorcycle… yes she has a name!) all over Warren and Washington Counties. Going north from Glens Falls into the Lake George-Warrensburg area has many great views of the Adirondacks, and going into Washington county towns like Whitehall, Argyle, and Hartford you can get some pretty awesome views of Vermont and the Green Mountains on the motorcycle! Walking with my wife and our three dogs Abby, Sadie and Brutus, with our favorite place to take them being the Betar Byway in South Glens Falls and Hovey Pond in Queensbury. Plus during the Fall and Winter sports seasons you can find me doing play by play football, basketball, and hockey with my broadcast partner and good friend Ken Leccese on our sister station Talk 1450 WWSC.
What would you be doing if you weren’t in radio? Professional product tester for either Nintendo or a special industry in Colorado or Washington.
Best moment you’ve had while on the air: Too many to pin down to just one. But the highlights would have to be doing play by play with Ken for the Queensbury and Glens Falls Football State Championships and the Lake George and Argyle Basketball State Championships.
Must watch movies: The Godfather Trilogy, Dazed and Confused and Game of Thrones (yes I know, its not technically a movie, but it’s still a must watch!).
Favorite TV Shows: Now this is a hard question cause there are so many shows that I like, but the ones I just DON’T miss are, Hell’s Kitchen, Supernatural, Big Bang Theory, Bones, Once Upon a Time, Boardwalk Empire, Spartacus, and True Blood.
Favorite Apps: Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds in Space(but I can’t stand Angry Birds RIO) FML, Solitaire, and LOLcats, and I almost forgot The Guitar Tuner app.
Favorite Concert at CIA/GFCC: Poison with Lita Ford and Britney Fox
Favorite Concert at at SPAC: H.O.R.D.E. Festival
Favorite Teams: Denver Broncos, Adirondack Thunder, Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Bulls, and Atlanta Braves. And even though I know it’s fake my favorite wrestlers were (cause I don’t watch it anymore) Ric Flair and Triple H.
Least favorite foods: Anything from the water (seafood) and anything overpowered with garlic.
What is your karaoke song? Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-A-Lot.
Do you have any pets? Three dogs: Abby, a mutt, Sadie Deadpool, a Chihuahua mix, Brutus, a pit/boxer mix. Two cats: Hugo and Rufus.
If you won the lottery, what would be your first purchase? Depends on the size of the prize. If we’re talking hundreds of millions, then a compound on Lake George with at lease four or five houses. Plus the main one so my family and friends can stay if they want, but I can also still have my own place for the wife, puppies and I. If it was a couple hundred bucks, I’d buy some beers!
If there was a movie about you life, who would you like to play you? Donal Logue or Eric Stolz (both are gingers like me).
If you could pick where you could go locally on vacation, where would you go? The Full Moon on Glen Lake.
If you could be someone else on staff for just one day, who would it be and why? Pete Cloutier, just so I could see what it was like to have more energy than that rabbit with batteries.
What is your favorite local place to go? Anywhere I can either be riding Big Bertha (my motorcycle) or have my puppies with me. If we’re talking food, it’s go to be Rocco’s downtown! And I can’t for get the C.I.A for Thunder Hockey.
What is one thing that would surprise the listeners about you?: I am left handed and the fact I’m in my early 40’s and sound like a teenager on the air.
But make sure you join me weekday afternoons from 1p-7p on Hits 95.9! I’ll have plenty of fun stuff like stupid people in the news, Hollywood snippets, and The All Request 5:00 Free Ride! Plus I’m always taking requests, hit me up at 743-9500!
What is your favorite thing about the community? I love the fact that we are a small enough community that everyone knows everyone else, but large enough that the sidewalks don’t get rolled up every night at 9pm.
What advice do you have for aspiring radio DJs? Go into sales! It’s where the money is, other wise, run. Run fast and far!
